King’s College: Saturday, February 18th

Registration is now open.

King’s College: Postponed

Registration is now open.

The Heart Screening is provided at no cost to students aged 12-19 years old. This screening is provided for students who are not currently under the care of a cardiologist and have not previously been screened by The Peyton Walker Foundation. Please register and select a time. You will receive an email from The Peyton Walker Foundation with a Heart Screening Participation Packet. Please complete and return the day of the heart screening.

We will send a reminder email 1-2 days prior to the screening. Questions can be directed to asheleigh@peytonwalker.org.

Every family will meet with a health care professional to discuss the results of their child’s testing, and will leave with a copy of their EKG and will receive a summary report of their visit.

The entire visit typically takes 60 minutes – time well spent!

  • He/she will receive a vitals check including blood pressure, height and weight.
  • He/she will receive an EKG (electrocardiogram) exam.
  • He/she will be evaluated at the heart sounds/murmur station.
  • About 10% of the students will receive an echocardiogram based on their family history or something of interest on the EKG.  Should your child need an Echo, you may need to stay an extra 45-60 minutes. This test is also provided at no cost to you.

*A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provide during your registration.  Please check your spam/clutter folders if you don’t see this in your Inbox.

If a participant is under 18 years of age and a parent/guardian is unable to attend with the participant, the participant MUST bring a signed consent form with them. You can download & print out a Consent Form here.

If you schedule an appointment and later find that you are unable to attend, please let us know so that we can make your appointment available to others. There will be a waiting list for this event and we want to screen as many teens as possible.

We are able to offer our heart screening at no cost because of generous donations like yours.
